President Hichilema Calls for Stronger Intra-Africa Trade Ties
President Hakainde Hichilema says the time has come for African nations to collaborate and fully harness the continent’s abundant natural resources.
President Hichilema says Africa must leverage its resources for its own advancement, stressing that investment in value‑chain technology is key to creating jobs, particularly for the youth.
The President made these remarks when a delegation from the Celestial Billionaires Family (CBF), an organisation under the Seventh‑day Adventist Church in Uganda, paid a courtesy call at State House this afternoon.
He encouraged Ugandan entrepreneurs in the delegation to pursue joint ventures with Zambian businesses.
Delegation representative Rose Namayanja said the group is promoting agro‑industrialisation to add value to agricultural produce and benefit from the full value chain. She emphasised that the entrepreneurs are interested in ethical, scalable, and impactful business partnerships in Zambia.
Ms. Namayanja echoed President Hichilema’s call for Africa to unite and expand intra‑continental trade, saying such collaboration would widen markets. She added that the visit to Zambia also provided an opportunity for peer learning with local entrepreneurs.
