Mama Dr. Christine Kaseba Sata – First Lady from 2011 to 2014
Christine became the fifth First Lady of the Republic of Zambia following Mr Michael Chilufya Sata emerging victorious as the country’s president from 2011 to 2014.
Dr Kaseba is a professional physician and surgeon, specialising in gynaecology and obstetrics and served at the University Teaching Hospital in Lusaka.
She served as the First Lady of Zambia from 2011 until the death of her Spouse, President Sata, on October 28, 2016.
Dr Kaseba also served as a World Health Organisation Goodwill Ambassador from 2012 to 2014.
While serving as First Lady, she spearheaded the campaign against Breast and Cervical Cancer under the Forum for African First Ladies. She also contributed significantly to the holding of the Sixth Stop Cervical Cancer in Africa Conference in Zambia in 2012. The Conference was attended by some First Ladies from the Forum.
